Poet Edna St. Vincent Millay lived at 75 ½ Bedford Street (only 9 and ½ feet wide), now partially under scaffolding from the building next door. She was the 1923 winner of the Pulitzer Prize for poetry with “The Ballad of the Harp-Weaver: A Few Figs from Thistles: Eight Sonnets in American Poetry, 1922. A Miscellany.”
